Dangote Transport Launches Advanced Driver Monitoring Control Room in Ibese

Dangote Transport has taken a significant step toward enhancing road safety and operational oversight with the unveiling of its Driver Monitoring Control Room at the company’s operational base in Ibese, Ogun State. This new facility is designed to monitor the driving behaviour of its nationwide fleet of trucks in real time, enabling prompt interventions to address any risky actions observed on the road.

The Control Room was recently showcased to journalists, highlighting the company’s commitment to leveraging advanced technology as part of its comprehensive safety strategy. By tracking drivers continuously, Dangote Transport aims to minimize accidents, protect its drivers, and safeguard other road users while improving overall operational efficiency.

David Idiege, the Head of Operations at Dangote Transport in Ibese, emphasized the importance of this facility during the tour, describing it as one of the latest enhancements integrated into the company’s extensive safety systems. He remarked, “We are constantly looking for innovative ways to strengthen safety across our transport operations. The Driver Monitoring Control Room represents another significant milestone in our efforts to ensure that all journeys are conducted safely and responsibly.”

The technology embedded within the Control Room allows supervisors to receive instant feedback on driver performance, identifying behaviours such as speeding, harsh braking, or distracted driving. This real-time data collection and analysis facilitate timely coaching and corrective measures, reducing the risk of accidents before they occur.

Idiege further explained that safety remains at the core of Dangote Transport’s operations, especially considering the scale of its fleet that operates across Nigeria. “Safety remains our highest priority.
